sploogersmoof on January 9, 2009 at 4:24 am
the president does not control national security, the military does. and every military expert on the face of the planet is saying that george bush’s foreign policy’s have put us more at risk.
now, republicans assholes are telling me he kept us safe, and im saying that is bullshit because he is not in the military and takes advice from his generals, who say we are not safe. and im saying, trying to protect us from terrorists is like protecting us from rapists, its impossible.
rhtchilipepper on January 10, 2009 at 1:05 am
i think its hilarious how ignorant you must be to think that george bush caused all of that….so, according to you, if lets say, anyone else was president, then none of that would happen at all? suddenly the rapes, murders, etc. would just not happen anymore? you are one naive son of a gun if you believe that
stylemasterrr on January 11, 2009 at 3:00 am
Bush is too stupid to be held fully accountable for this country’s decline in the past 8 years. its bigger than just him. but yeah, he was as bad president. mostly because he alienated us from the rest of the world. remember when we were supposed to boy cott france? lol seems like the french got it right.

“…sure aint from random chance.”
It aint? You seem very sure of that. I’m not as sure. I mean, what are the odds that I would have a random encounter with the one who has the answer to the ultimate question? Pretty slim, I’d guess…but it happened here on youtube, proving that incredible things can and do randomly happen!

no, im saying bush started a war based on lies and his policys destroyed our economy.
JoBracks on January 14, 2009 at 1:03 am

“Though the lead singer Brandon Boyd claims the song is not specifically targeting anybody [1], Megalomaniac has been called a “barely veiled condemnation of George W. Bush”[2]. The band maintains that the song’s meaning pertains to megalomaniacs in general.”
sploogersmoof on January 19, 2009 at 10:48 am
you obviously dont understand what i mean..
i mean the guy’s policys were massive failures. he lied to the country to get us into a war, his economic policys destroyed our economy, and he vetoed everything congress tried to do. the man is the worst president we have ever had.
ramslax05 on January 21, 2009 at 4:47 pm
Yes because Bush controls all of the government and he had complete control of all of those situations. He just hates everything American so he let those things happen for his own self pleasure.
sploogersmoof on January 24, 2009 at 5:15 pm
give me one positive thing george bush has done.
and dont say “he kept us safe” because we both know that is a load of bullshit. case and point, the dc sniper, that government scientist who mailed anthrax laced envelopes to people, the guy who detonated a bomb in an army recruitment center, and lets not forget 9/11 itself. as well as thousands of murders, rapes, and kidnappings every year.
sploogersmoof on January 24, 2009 at 6:16 pm
the entire story of creation is allegorical and modern science as well as common sense can tell you adam and eve didnt exist. the stupid as fuck 1950’s era family never existed, and you cant kill something that doesn’t exist. reality isnt a damn sitcom you idiot.
if it was, there wouldn’t be some many teenage drug addicts and thrill killers. and the average numbers of those two things have gone down in the last 40 years..

The song itself does not directly allude to America, it simply is talking about a certain attitude and how it is ignorant.
The movie’s imagery is where I draw my conclusions about the American element in the song. I know that other countries have close minded cultures, but we’re America, we were supposed to be ahead of the curve and open and enlightened as any other 1st world country is. But over the past few decades a slide into backwards and superiority like thinking has become more prevalent
Deadsy20 on February 1, 2009 at 5:59 am
the song is about megalomania.. durrr
The song is mainly about authority and the mental illness people in power suffer from it. People have every right to trim down their leaders.. dont forget that. This is also about religous officials who suffer megalomania, or anyone who thinks they are better then someone else. Its anti-government and anarchist shit wich is good.

Drinking the oil towards the end screams America to me, accurate or otherwise.
Tetrisnext on February 3, 2009 at 8:04 am
Where does it say in any form anything about just america, americans aren’t the only ones out there that think so close minded, in a sense I could say your close minded because you think its about only americans. But I wont because I see your point, either way Its a good song.

After listening to this song and watching the video, I first thought this was a stab at Bush; and it does make sense as such.
However, after a few dozen more listens, I realized it was actually a backhand to the face of complacent, overconfident Americans. About how we act like we can do whatever we want and brush off people who think differently. It’s telling people that America is nothing special and the rest of the world is just as important, so stop acting like we’re the most important.

This song has nothing to do with religion, all it says Your no jesus, and you all go fucking mad with religion wars, Listen you got problems take it some where else, know one here wants to hear about what you believed in, We only want to listen to this song. you have somthing to say about religion, WE DON’T CARE GET OVER IT.

The heavy guitar riff during the beginning/chorus is very reminiscent of Nirvana.
CertifiedGwopBoy on February 8, 2009 at 5:26 am
This song is crazy and so is the video. Its nice to see that old 60’s 70’s trippy psychedlic political expression look in todays world. I would have liked to directed a video like this one.
UberSciFiNerd on February 11, 2009 at 5:23 pm
i like the guitar in this; i play it all the time
everythingzen10 on February 12, 2009 at 7:53 am
band like incubus and rage against the machine do not do videos and write songs like this because they want people to fight and argue they are just showing their views on the matter. they want people to express themselves and do what one thinks is right so arguing about it is stupid. also any educated christian knows that you do not have to believe the bible word for word you believe in your own interpretation as long as you believe God is the ultimate creator
